PRESENTATION OUTLINE

WAVE PRESENTATION

BY: MIA LEVI

CREST

The top of something.

TROUGH

A LONG, NARROW, OPEN CONTAINER FOR GROWING PLANTS.

MEDIUM

the intervening substance through which impressions are conveyed to the senses or a force acts on objects at a distance.

AMPLITUDEE

THE MAXIMUM EXTENT OF A VIBRATION OR OSCILLATION, MEASURED FROM THE POSITION OF EQUILIBRIUM.

WAVELENGTH

THE DISTANCE BETWEEN SUCCESSIVE CRESTS OF A WAVE, ESPECIALLY POINTS IN A SOUND WAVE OR ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE.

WAVE SPEED

The speed at which a wave travels.

NODE

A point along a standing wave where the wave has minimum amplitude.

ANTINODE

The position of maximum displacement in a standing wave system.

TRANSVERSE WAVE

A wave vibrating at right angles to the direction of its propagation.

LONGITUDINAL WAVE

WAVE VIBRATING IN THE DIRECTION OF PROPAGATION.

STANDING WAVE

A vibration of a system in which some particular points remain fixed while others between them vibrate with the maximum amplitude.

ELECTROMAGNETIC

Of or relating to the interrelation of electric currents or fields and magnetic fields.

EARTHQUAKE

A sudden and violent shaking of the ground, sometimes causing great destruction, as a result of movements

TSUNAMI

A long high sea wave caused by an earthquake, submarine landslide, or other disturbance.

ROGUE WAVES

Rogue waves (also known as freak waves, monster waves, episodic waves, killer waves, extreme waves, and abnormal waves) are large and spontaneous surface waves that occur far out in open water, and can be extremely dangerous, even to large ships such as ocean liners.
