Cultivate a Kind Heart

  • Today, as much as possible, I will strive to do no harm to anybody.
  • Today, as much as possible, I will try to be of service and benefit to others.
  • Today, I want to do all actions so that all living beings can attain the long-term happiness of enlightenment.
  • I can only lose what I cling to.

Meditate Each Day

  • In the same way that we always find time to eat because food nourishes our body, we will find time to meditate and recite some prayers because it nourishes us spiritually.
  • When we respect ourselves spiritually, we respect ourselves as human beings.

Practice Dharma at the Workplace

  • "Today, I want to have a kind heart towards others."
  • "May I be of service to those I encounter."

Cultivate Mindfulness

  • Be aware of what you are thinking, feeling, saying, and doing each moment.
  • Be mindful of ethical values and the kind heart, so that you can live accordingly in your daily life.

Live in the Interdependent World

  • If we pollute our environment, we negatively affect ourselves, our children, and other living beings.
  • Through mindfulness of being kind, we will curtail the ways in which we pollute our environment.
  • Realize your interdependence with others and how much benefit you receive from them.

Offer Your Work

  • Imagine your work to be a blissful wisdom bringing nectar. Visualize offering your delicious nectar to a small Buddha made of light at your heart.
  • Identify and let go of attachments related to work.
  • Strive to perform your work mindfully.

Review the Day

  • Reflect about the day noticing when you acted kindly and rejoice.
  • Dedicate that positive merit for the enlightenment of ourselves and others.
  • Forgive yourself for misdirected actions and let go of that negative energy.
  • When you lie down to sleep, imagine the Buddha sitting on your pillow and you resting your head in the Buddha's lap.
