PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Globalization
n. Globalization results in the expansion of international cultural, economic, and political activities

GLOBALIZATION IN HISTORY

  • The globalization of the Greek culture was mainly caused by Alexander the Great, who conquered many countries and already the Greek culture.
  • This relates to Social, because when Alexander conquered new territories, he gave them a new culture and a new way to live.
  • This connects to me because I can learn about this even though it happened thousands of years ago.

COMMUNICATION

  • With the invention of cell phones, people can now connect with people on the other side of the earth, and everyone has access to world news and they can know what's happening in different places.
  • This connects to Social, because a farmer in Nigeria can talk with his brother who moved to New York in a matter of seconds.
  • This connects to me because I can call my friends in Spain and find out what's going on in their life and their town.

TRAVEL

  • Travel has really helped with globalization because it allows people to go to all parts of the world to find work, for their work, and to visit. This supports the spread of culture throughout the world.
  • This connects to economic because if there is a country where a lot of people come to find work, that country will do better and get more money.
  • This connects to me because through travel and globalization I have tried different cuisines and found new foods that I enjoy.
