PASSAGE ABOUT NAPOLEON

  • "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

Analysis:
Slowly but surely, Napoleon manipulates the animals to make them believe that he is greater than them all and should rule them, even though that is the opposite of what the animal farm was originally created for.

He symbolizes Joseph Stalin and his rule over the Soviet Union. Stalin used propaganda to take away the agricultural land, just like Napoleon.

Napoleon connects to the allegorical interpretation because he symbolizes the leader of the Soviet Union.

Theme
One of the themes in animal farm could be that not all change is good. Napoleon relates to this because he instigates the change and makes it worse for everyone but him.
