WEATHER FORECAST

By: NaThanielle Hughes

Water Cycle

The water cycle is the many stages that water goes through while on Earth.

First is Evaporation. During this stage, water is heated by the sun until it evaporates, forming water vapor that floats into the air.

Next is Condensation. Here, the water vapor cools and groups together, creating different types of clouds. The three main types are stratus clouds, cumulus clouds, and cirrus clouds.

Then, there's Precipitation. When too much water is built up in a cloud, the cloud will release in one of many forms. Rain, snow, sleet, or hail.

And last is collection. This is when the water returns to Earth. It can return to the ocean, rivers, and lakes, or or be absorbed into the soil and become ground water.

These are all parts of weather and climate. But what's the difference between them?

Weather

Weather is the conditions of a particular place from day to day.

Climate

Climate is the average weather conditions of a region.

An instrument used to help determine the weather is a wind vane. Wine vanes tell which direction the wind is blowing from. Put them in a high place, like the roof of a house. When the wind blows, it pushes the arrow to the direction the wind is blowing.

Oklahoma City

I believe in the next few days, Oklahoma City will experience a cold front and low pressure. It'll be partially cloudy for about a day or two, then get clear.
