DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE PROJECT

Thomas Jefferson composed the original draft of the document witch was then edited by congress to produce the final version, after all the members of congress signed it the document was ratified on July 4 and was initially published and distributed to the public.

The Declaration of Independence has great significance to the American people because it is what led to our independence from King George III. The Declaration of Independence justified our right to revolt against a government that no longer guaranteed us our natural rights. And it also helped us to get increased foreign assistance from France in our fight to become free from King George III of England. The Declaration of Independence stated certain ideals that the colonists believed were important for man to have, such as liberty and equality.

PREAMBLE
Sometimes in the course of human events it becomes necessary for a group of people to remove themselves from the political attachment witch have connected them to other people, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them. To have a decent respect of mankind's opinions requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

BELIEFS
These truths are self evident, all me are created equal , they are given unalienable rights by God. Among those are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To secure these rights governments are to use their just powers with the consent of the people. If the government becomes destructive of these laws, it is in the power of the people to alter or abolish it and create a new one. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States.
