SEAHORSE

HABITAT

  • Usually found in shallow, tropical and cool waters;salt water(ocean).
  • Abiotic factors a sea horse needs are...
  • Water,the right temperature, light and good oxygen levels.

NICHE

  • Most seahorses are considered predatory fish, and secondary consumers. They don't have much high risks of predators but do still need to be on the lookout.

POPULATIONS

  • Seahorses do mainly live on their own but, if not they live in herds.
  • Two limiting factors of seahorses are they don't have any teeth or a stomach so, food immediately passes though them. They have to keep eating almost constantly to stay alive.
  • Another is, a lot of People(mainly in Africa) use seahorses in Medicine or even eat them.

ENERGY

  • These seahorses are considered secondary consumers.
  • Omnivore
  • They mainly eat shrimp, zoo plankton, and small crustaceans.

BIOLOGICAL INTERACTIONS

  • Seahorse eats the shrimp
  • Father seahorse carries the babies in their eggs until they hatch.
  • Seahorses can hide in the brush and Coral.

ADAPTATIONS

  • Camouflage helps them hide from predators and not be seen.
  • Their eyes can also turn a whole 360 to see any predators coming
