BASICS

  • A painters job is to apply paint and other decorative finishes to the interiors and exteriors of buildings and to canvases

EDUCATION

  • To become a painter you can go to schools such as Rice, and Rhode Island School of Design
  • Or, you can skip going to college and start painting from a very early age

CAREER

  • The average pay of a painter is 54,000 dollars a year
  • Contractor- You can be a house painter which can be a very stable job
  • Individual Artist- You can also be. An individual artist who paints portraits and other styles. An individual artist can make a very stable income but can also be very unstable

CREATIVE PROCESS

  • Individual artists will use nature, others, and religion as there inspiration.
  • Painters either get there work from contractor companies or individual painters get the work from there inspiration.

PLANNING PROCESS

  • For contractors they must plan what they want to paint.
  • For individual artists it takes more work. They must decide the type of art then prepare specifically for that type of art.

  • Paintbrushes
  • Paint
  • Paint roller
  • Paint tray
  • Ladder (if paintings a tall area)
