CONDUCT MANAGEMENT

  • Rules of conduct will be documented in a behavioral contract.
  • Raising of hands when the student wishes to speak.
  • Remain in seat assigned, only if told otherwise.
  • The use of appropriate language.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy desk.

  • Arriving to class on time and prepared.

  • The definition of content management as described by Froyen, Iverson (1999), occurs when teachers manage space, materials, equipment, the movement of people, and lessons that are part of a curriculum or program of studies" (University of Northern Iowa).

  • Varying instructional approach to embrace problem-solving methods.
  • Assisting students to analyze and interpret content.
  • I will design learning objects combined with descriptive examples related to the student's life experience.

CONDUCT MANAGEMENT CONT'D

  • Froyen and Iverson (1999) Conduct management refers to the set of procedural skills that teachers employ in their attempt to address and resolve discipline problems in the classroom. (University of Northern Iowa)

CLASSROOM RULES & PROCEDURES

  • Greet students at the door with a smile.
  • Students will be required to put away backpacks, snacks, and outer clothing in the proper place on entering.
  • Enter the classroom quietly and proceed to your seat.
  • Homework from the previous day's assignment should be placed in the designated area

  • Students must be prepared with all the supplies needed for the day.
  • Students will be mandated to raise their hands before leaving their seats.
  • Students must raise a hand to receive permission to go to the bathroom.
  • At the end of class day, students will be required to clear desk for dismissal.

  • According to Wong, Wong, Rogers, and Brooks (2012), well-planned procedures will generate a safe, trusting, and caring classroom environment geared towards maximizing successful learning opportunities.

  • One student at a time to restroom.
