EARLY LIFE

  • Born April 7, 1506
  • Born in Xavier castle near Sangüesa, Spain.
  • Member of a noble family.
  • Had a privileged childhood.

MINISTRY

  • Xavier met Someone who experienced a religious conversion while recovering from a war wound. The person tried to convince Xavier to join him on the same path of devotion. Which he did.
  • August 15,1534, Xavier pledged to the Jesuits and promised to visit the holy lands.
  • Became a priest on June 24,1537.

WHO HE SERVED

  • Xavier worked in a hospital helping those in need waiting to go to the holy lands.
  • When fighting between Venice and the Ottoman Empire made a trip to the Holy Lands impossible, Xavier went to Rome, where he offered his services to the pope.

  • Being one of the founders of the Jesuit order.
