NAZI GOVERNMENT

WHAT ARE CONCENTRATION CAMPS?

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

  • We were told to chose an interesting subject
  • Research that subject and ask questions about it
  • Answer those questions
  • Write a paper detailing out findings
  • Make a presentation to teach the rest of the class

I CHOOSE THIS TOPIC BECAUSE...

  • By everyone knowing about it and why it happened it won’t happen again
  • We have been protected from seeing the things that actually happened
  • It is interesting to learn about something some of us could of been through if we were alive
  • It is history

  • Mass graves were dug daily
  • You were starved/dehydrated
  • You were held in horrible living conditions with little clothing, medical attention, hygiene, and rest.

WHO CREATED THEM

They were created by General Valeriano Weyler during the Spanish American War in Cuba. But were used in a different way by the British for the Native Americans.

TYPES OF CAMPS

  • forced labor camps
  • Extermination camps
  • Concentration camps
  • Transit camps
  • Prisoner of war camps

What people commonly mistake is that concentration camps are every camp. They are really just a place where prisoners without any trial.

Extermination camps are where mass murders happen. They use gas chambers or they would shot you. They would kill so many people they would dig mass graves on a daily basis.

Transit camps are where prisoners were held in between transportation to other camps.

Prisoner of War camps were where soldiers from other countries that were detained were held.

Forced labor camps are where you were held as prisoner to do work. They did work such as farming, mining, construction, and other industrial work. They did this work under intense heat and cold with
little clothing, food, water, equipment, rest,
and had no medical needs taken care of.
