The myth
Hydra was identified as the water snake that Apollo's crow brought to him as an excuse for returning tardy after being dispatched from the god to go it fetch some water.The god was so furious that he casted both the snake and bird along with the cup the bird fetched the water in into the sky. The bird and cup are know as Corvus and Crater
