BATTLE OF THE ORANGES FESTIVAL

The festival takes place during the last three days of Ivrea's historic carnival.
The origin of the Battle of Orange dates back to the Middle Ages, and the motif is the historical fact that the people uprised the dictatorship at that time.
So this festival is a battle, and Orange is a weapon here.

It is the citizens of the tyrant who ride on the carriage, and the citizens of the public who throw oranges at the tyrants. A total of 8 to 9 teams are divided into 5 squares to form a base, and the people defeat the tyrants that appear there.

FACT ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

• This festival is held annually and is open to tourists.
• At first, beans were thrown, but before I knew it, it changed to orange. Oranges come from distant Sicily, and the total amount is hundreds of tons.
• The battle of dying continued for about 3 hours, and after it was over, it was exactly the mark of the battle. The entire city is enveloped in orange debris and a fresh scent.
