PRESENTATION OUTLINE
CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD
Christmas's around the world are all different. But, the similarities between China and the United States are what i'm going to be focusing on.
China is located in East Asia on the opposite side of the world from the United States, which is located in North or "Central" America.
In China people say "Sheng Dan Kuai Le" which means Merry Christmas in Chinese.
In America everyone just says "Merry Christmas" or "Happy holidays."
In China, Santa is called,"Dun Che Loa Ren."
He arrives to houses by walking the streets of China on Christmas Eve.
In contrast America's Santa is called "Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus, or Old Saint Nick." Santa Claus reaches children's houses in his red slay pulled by his nine reindeer.
In both China and America people go caroling and singing through the streets to show joy.
In China for dessert people usually eat deep fried wonton cookies, or other types of cookies and sweets.
Here in America people eat a variety of sweets such as candy canes, cakes, pies, and other sugary delights.
Weather in China is similar to America around the holiday, because even though it snows lightly it is still enough to be seen if you look outside.
America's weather can vary from all over, northern states have snow while southern states don't. It's all a matter of placement.
Learning about these to countries holidays second hand has been a fun experience. I've learned that with as many differences as these two have, they also have the same number of awesome similarities.
I've come to realize now that the true meaning of Christmas is sharing the moment with the one(s) you love.
