SOLOMONS WISDOM

1 KINGS, CHAPTER 3

In the bible Solomon tells God that he is grateful about being his servant and being king but, Solomon doesn't think he has what it takes to be these things.

So Solomon asks God to "Give your servant, therefore, a listening heart to judge your people and to distinguish between good and evil. For who is able to give judgment for this vast people of yours?”

God answered Solomon's request saying "Because you asked for this—you did not ask for a long life for yourself, nor for riches, nor for the life of your enemies—but you asked for discernment to know what is right"

"I now do as you request. I give you a heart so wise and discerning that there has never been anyone like you until now, nor after you will there be anyone to equal you."

Solomon shows that he is wise when two prostitutes come to him when they are arguing about who is the mother of the live baby.

Solomon first tells them to cut the baby in half so one half goes to one mother and the other half goes to the other mother.

One of the mothers plead for Solomon to keep the baby alive and give away but he gives the baby to the right mother.
