Sun

  • Sun is the center of the solar system.
  • The sun produces heat and light energy using nuclear reactions.
  • The sun is an average sized star, but one million earths can fit inside it.

sun's layers

  • Starting in the center is the core.
  • Next from the core is the radiation zone.
  • Then the convection zone
  • After the convection zone is the photosphere. This is the visible layer.
  • The last layer is the corona and is a cloud of gas.

  • The Proxima is the closest star other than the sun.
  • The Betelgeuse is a giant red star.
  • The Rigel is a super giant.
  • All stars seen without a telescope are in Milky Way Galaxy.
  • Magnitude is the designation indicating the brightness of a star.
  • One light year is 9.6 trillion km away.
