  • Prepare graphic representations of proposed plans
  • Plan the locations of roads, walkways, flowers, shrubs, and trees
  • Seek to enhance the natural beauty of a space

HOw to become a landscape architect

  • Get a bachelor's degree (BLA or BSLA)
  • Work experience as an apprentice or intern
  • A Landscape Architect Registration Examination license is required
  • Some states require additional licensing

Landscape Architects work on a broad range of projects including: single family home landscapes, public and government campuses, projects for private clients, and many more.

Projects can include:

  • Site design
  • Historic preservation
  • Planning
  • Grading and drainage
  • Horticulture
