WPA

• It was established on April 8, 1935.

THE WPA WAS CREATED TO

• made work accessible to the unemployed
• The WPA built roads, streets and highways; and built, repaired or refurbished ,bridges, public buildings, parks.

THE WPA AFFECTS

• People who don't have jobs
• the agency employed about 25 percent of the nation`s jobless

SUCCESSFUL OR UNSUCCESFUL

• The WPA was successful because it gave a lot of Americans jobs during the Great Depression

THE WPA TODAY

• The WPA is not open today.
• It closed on June, 1943.
• It closed due to lack of funding.
