Important Vocabulary:

Work- the amount of energy needed
to move an
object

What is it?

A lever is . . .
any long tool, like a stick, rod, or pole.
It is put under an object to lift it.

What is a fulcrum?

A fulcrum is another object that the lever braces against for more leverage.
A fulcrum can be a rock, log, or even built into the lever itself.

Where are levers?
Everywhere!!!
Some real world examples of levers are:
door handles, bottle openers, pry bars, light switches, and hinges!
