GUILT OFFERING

WHAT CAUSED THIS SACRIFICE TO NEED TO BE MADE?

this sacrifice is for:

• Those who unintentionally committed a sin.
• Those who sin against the Lord's things.
• The sins of the people of Israel caused this.

What are the regulations for this particular offering?

Regulations:

• He must repent when he realizes his guilt.
• He must pay back what was stolen in full + 1/5.
• He must apologize on the day he realizes his guilt.

How was it to be prepared? 

PREPARATIONS:

• Take a ram without blemish.
• It must be valued in silver shekles.
• Make restitution and + 1/5 for the priest.

What were the specific ways it was to be carried out? 

Ceremony performed :

• Blood thrown against the side of the altar.
• Fat, Kidneys, Lobe of the Liver shall be offered.
• The Priest will burn them as a food offering to the Lord.
• It shall be beaten by all male priests in the Holy Place.

What is the point of this offering?

Guilt offering

• "It is a guilt offering..." Lev. 5:19
• They had indeed sinned before the Lord.
