PORT ARANSAS

LOCATION

• Port Aransas is located in the gulf coast region of the coastal plains region.
• It is in south Texas right on the Gulf of Mexico

HISTORY

• During the Mexico war, a small fort was built on Mustang island-
• (👆) to guard the entrance to the Aransas bay.
• It was used until after the Civil War.
• The name changed to Tarpon in 1899 because of the kind of large fish caught there

MAJOR INDUSTRIES

• Most of the major industries in Port Aransas include deep sea fishing
• Also shrimping
• As well as tourism

TOURIST ATTRACTION

• Major attractions include Woody's Marina and Deep Sea Fishing
• As well as the South Texas Skydiving co. Where people jump

• Also visit the Port Aransas Museum!

WOULD YOU LIVE THERE?

• The reason I would want to live in Port Aransas are...
• It is right on the beach, and you don't have to go to a foreign country.
• It is the ideal spot for an outdoors man because of the fishing availability
• Also for all the trails and overall things to do in the city.
