Tons of overripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets for one hour. There are no winners, people just do this for fun.

Tomatina is our favorite festival because it seems like everyone would have a good time and enjoy the celebration of throwing tomatoes at each other.

CINCO DE MAYO

This festival celebrates the victory of the Mexican militia. Cinco de mayo is actually celebrated more in the U.S. then it is in Mexico.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

OCTOBER 31-NOVEMBER 2

This holiday is about celebrating the deceased. The flower of the dead is marigolds. People eat grasshoppers as celebration and use candles to light the way of the dead.

CARNIVAL OF SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE

FEBRUARY

This is one of the most famous festivals in Spain. Held in February of each year. The parades move through the streets with energetic musical groups and well-dressed performers. The most beautiful scene of this festival is the parade of well-dressed young ladies who enchant viewers with their way of dancing.
