  • EARLY TO MID-SPRING AND CONTINUES INTO MID-SUMMER. FUN FACT- IT IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST PLANTS TO BLOOM IN THE SPRING.

SCARLETT CATCHFLY

  • Blooms between August and mid-September
  • Fun fact- This species is currently found more abundantly in man-disturbed sites than in more natural habitats.

DWARF IRIS

  • Blooms in the Spring
  • Fun fact- Changing water levels can open new habitat for the plants.

VASEY TRILLIUM

  • Blooms from April to May
  • Fun fact- Trilliums, also known as wake robins or trinity flowers, are perennial flowering plants

COMMON TRILLIUM

  • Blooms in mid to late spring
  • Fun fact- The large white trillium is the official wildflower of Ohio.

MAYAPPLE

  • Blooms in April or May
  • Fun fact- It has a flower under its leaves so it does not get pollinated by wind; it has no native pollinators because it does not reward pollinators by providing nectar.

JACK IN THE PULPIT

  • Blooms between April and June
  • Fun fact- Jack-in-thee-pulpit receives its name from the structure of its unique flower.
