• August is membership and extension month in Rotary.
• This to me is the most important month in Rotary. Without you, me and those coming up to join there won't be anything called Rotary.
• Why so much about this Rotary/Rotarians?
• These (we) are "ordinary" people doing great things in the world.

• Can you imagine a family of 1.2 million people? GREAT!
• What do we do? - we put smiles on people's faces, doing good in the world, Lending hands to those who are less privileged and counting everybody worthy.

• Let me remind you the 1st public toilet in the world was built by Rotarians, in Chicago (YEAR....)
• Let me make you happy that through your singular vision and efforts, Polio is becoming a FORGONE DISEASE in the world.
• Can I tell you that you have friends all over the world?

• You are the only none governmental organization in the UN.
• You are too reliable, with so much integrity that others want to associate with.
• Bill & Melenda Gate Foundation is proud of you, such that it doubles every dollar you put on the table for Polio Eradication.

• Every government is always looking forward to doing business with us.
• What a lovely set of people we are!

CAN YOU GLOSS OVER THESE? SERVING HUMANITY THROUGH THESE AREA OF FOCUS:

• Peace, conflict prevention and Resolution. *Promoting peace - >100 peace fellowships per year at Rotary peace centres)
• Water sanitation. *Providing clean water - More than 50% of the world)
• Disease prevention & treatment. *fighting diseases - helping communities by educating their ways to prevent and also get ourselves involved in managing , eg Polio, HIV/AIDS , Malaria etc.

• Maternal & child health. *saving mothers and children
• Basic education and literacy. *supporting education
• Economic and community development. *growing local economies
• Is there anything left undone? NO. Is there any area we have neglected? NO.

• If you are what I have just said you are and you do, why don't you celebrate yourself if others are not?
• The aim of this special month is not just to bring new members but also to celebrate ourselves if actually we are true and genuine Rotarians.
• Have you heard of the latest slogan? "I AM A PROUD MEMBER" ( ROTARY)

• At this point, I want to plead with us not to be selfish and bring our friends, enemies, to belong to this enviable organization of professionals, businessmen and community leaders who love to do good in the world.
• At least somebody invited you. How many have you invited? This year slogan is "DOUBLE THE DOUBLE", so I am expecting you to live up to the 4way test.
• " The more we are together, the happier we shall be"

• Henry Ford said, and I quote " coming together is the beginning, keeping together is the process and working together is success"
• My service above friends, are we working together in this club?
• I sincerely look forward towards genuine fellowship so that we can stand shoulder to shoulder with any club in the district and in the world.

• I enjoin everyone of us to choose forgiveness rather than division and teamwork over personal ambition, here lies in greatness.
• Why are we still few in Rotary Club Egbe, or 1.2m in the world for over 13years since I joined rotary family?
• We do attract people, this I know. Or works speak.

• What of retention? Here lies the problem. Why? My stake is that we do not engage everybody . The power of unity is in making everybody to belong and stay relevant.
• Another major point is how knowledgeable Rotarians are. How can you mentor why you didn't leave the mentee level?

• Are we not also in rush to bring people just to increase numbers? This is wrong. We need quality of quantity and I believe our friends here today are the right ones. Yes I do.
• Then you can hasten your steps to join the largest family in the world whose business is to touch the lives of people positively.

• May I let you know that alone you can do a little but together, we can do much more.
• While we celebrate ourselves today for being in Gods vineyard, we are also being encouraged to bring in people to join the train to a safer and better place to be.
