EURYPTERID (PREHISTORIC SCORPION)

  • Eurypterids were in the arthropod family.
  • Eurypterid's name was from Greek.
  • One part of Eurypterid's name means broad/wide the other part means ptera which means wing.
  • They lived in lakes and seas.
  • They can grow up to a max of 2.5 meters (8ft 2in).
  • They are not considered true scorpions.
  • They went extinct 252.17 million years ago.

SCORPIONS

  • They can grow 0.3in to 9in.
  • 25of the 1,750 species can kill humans.
  • They have 13 extinct families known to date.
  • The most harmful species are found in Western Asia, South America, and Africa.

  • The largest species of the genus are the largest known invertebrates.
  • They can be 0.3 to 2.3 meters and a width of 50cm.
  • They are herbivories.(They only eat plants)
  • They became extinct in the Carboniferous period.When it became drying out.

  • They can grow up to 1foot.
  • They can have 30 to 354 legs.
  • They are known to be highly venomous.
  • 8,000 are thought to exist 3,000 have been discribed.
  • They can have 10 to 50 babies.
