  • Sand, small rocks, animal and plant remains make up the layers of sedimentary rocks
  • Examples of sedimentary rock are sandstone, shale, and limestone

  • Formed by heat and pressure
  • Was once sedimentary and/or igneous
  • Common metamorphic rocks are marble, slate, an gneiss
