Peter the great was born on the 9th of June in 1672 in Moscow Russia.
His parents were Alexis of Russia (dad) and Natalya Naryshkina (mother)
And at the age of 53 Peter died on February 8, 1725

FUN FACT ABOUT PETER

  • Peter The Great told the people he ruled over to cut off their long cloaks. He said that all coats should be cut off at knees.

WHAT WERE SOME PROBLEMS ?

  • The government needed more money so he taxed the people living in Russia for things like having beards.
  • And he wanted to have more cloth for the people so he had people not use as much cloth while making clothes.

WHERE HAS PETER ALL LIVED?

  • Peter The Great lived in Moscow, A Lot of Europe, and St. Petersburg.

WHAT WAS PETER THE GREAT LIKE?

  • Peter was Nice guy, he didn't kill as many people as other Russian leaders, he had a family so he wasn't very lonely in life.
  • He won his wars so he was smart, but he made high taxes because the nation was needing money (it helped the economy), he was loving because had a pretty big family (two wife's and 11 children)

HOW DID HE HANDLE PROBLEMS AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PEOPLE

  • Peters country didn't have a lot of money at one time so he put taxes on more things. And the people did not like having to pay more money.

WHY WAS HE IMPORTANT TO RUSSA?

  • Peter the Great was important in Russia for many reasons like..... Russia became one of the most powerful states in Europe. He created a very efficient military. He moved the religious capital from Moscow to a city he built named St. Petersburg. Last on Sept. 12, 1698 he officially founded the first Russian Navy Base.

WHY DO WE LIKE/DISLIKE PETER?

  • We think he's ok. He put to much tax or things and had people change how they dressed.
  • But he made a good navy, and got money for the government. So he's not the best leader, but he's ok.
