AMERICAN SAMOA

NATIONAL PARK

Samoa is located in the middle of the the South Pacific ocean. It is about 2,600 miles southwest from Hawaii.

The park was established on October 31, 1988 by public law. They made it a national park to protect the wildlife like the fruit bats and the coral reefs.

They made it a national park to protect the beautiful landscape and the tropical creatures.

The size of the park is 13,500 acres, 9,500 of it is on land and the other 4,000 of it is under the water (mostly coral reefs).

The landscape is a rainforest. The park consists of 5 inhabited volcanic islands. The highest point is Lata Mountain at 964m or 3162.73 feet.

28,892 people visited the park in 2016!

Some special activities on the island are hiking or snorkeling in the coral reefs. Some indoor activities are exhibits that showcase the island and other nature involved models about the island.

My opinion is that American Samoa National Park would be a great tropical vacation.
