PRESENTATION OUTLINE

God of Light and Truth,
thank you for giving me
a mind that can know
and a heart that can love.
Help me to keep learning every day of my life,
for all knowledge leads to you.
Let me be aware of your presence
in all things and at all times.
Encourage me when work is difficult
and when I am tempted to give up;
encourage me when my brain seems slow
and the way forward is difficult.
Grant me the grace to put my mind to use
exploring the world you have created,
confident that in you there a wisdom
that is real.
Amen.

Now, before I run to play,
Let me not forget to pray
To God who kept me through the night
And waked me with the morning light.
Help me, Lord, to love thee more
Than I ever loved before,
In my work and in my play
Be thou with me through the day.
Amen.

Lord,
May all that we do this day,
from morning until night,
begin with your inspiration,
and continue with your powerful help.
May our work this day
be rooted in love and mercy,
that we might love you,
and love our neighbors,
as perfectly as you love us.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

O Lord God,
School is not always easy,
And some days, it is very difficult,
and I struggle to relax
and be at peace.
Yet I know that you will give me patience, wisdom, and courage,
to be excellent in every way, and you will help me love others,
as you love me. Amen.

O Lord God,
School is not always easy,
And some days, it is very difficult,
and I struggle to relax
and be at peace.
Yet I know that you will give me
patience, wisdom, and courage,
to be excellent in every way,
and you will help me love others,
as you love me. Amen.

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

God our Father, open our eyes to the splendour of your creations, to the dignity of those who are made in your image and likeness, and to the opportunities each day brings. Create new miracles this day that, transformed by your Spirit living within us, we may touch the hearts of those you have entrusted to us. Help us all to walk more faithfully in your presence and seek first your kingdom, with Jesus your Son. Amen.

Lord Jesus,
I give you my hands - to do your work.
I give you my feet - to go your way.
I give you my eyes - to see as you do.
I give you my tongue - to speak your words.
I give you my mind
- that you may think in me.
I give you my spirit
- that you may pray in me.
Above all, I give you my heart
that you may love, in me,
your Father and all mankind.
I give you my whole self
that you may grow in me,
so that it is you, Lord Jesus,
who live and work and pray in me. Amen.

Father,
into your hands we place our successes.
Into your hands we also place our failures,
and we pray that, through your Spirit,
we may face the challenges of life
with courage and determination.
Help us to think anew
and see things more broadly
than in terms of “success”
and “failure”,
but focus more on “faithfulness”.
Lead us always to trust
and place ourselves confidently
in your hands.
Amen.

Lord, you have enriched our lives
in many ways.
Give us this day
the wisdom to recognise
which things are important
and which things are not.
Show us how best
to use the time and talents
you have given us.
Help us to use all opportunities wisely
that we may give in service to others
the good gifts
we have received from you.
Amen.

Father,
enable us to see and love
ourselves and others
as you see and love us,
and so may we grow in the image and likeness
of Jesus your Son and our Brother. Amen.

Lord, inspire us
to learn alongside the young people
you have entrusted to our care.
May all that we learn together today
draw us closer to one another
and to you. Amen.

Father,
we thank you for our school community,
knowing that
we can learn from each other
and grow in faith.
We pray for all involved in our school
that all of us may grow
as the people you call us to be.
Amen.

Father,
we ask for your blessing
on all who are involved in our school.
May your Spirit inspire us
to follow your Way together,
discover your Truth together,
and grow together
in the fullness of Life
offered by Jesus your Son.
Amen.

Lord,
may the words we use
today and every day
be words of kindness,
words of humour and goodwill:
words that come from the overflowing
of a loving heart. Amen.

Lord, we ask you to inspire us
to encourage others today
in our attitude and words and actions.
Amen.

Lord, give me patience and tolerance
with everyone.
Lead me to be kind and generous
to everyone,
and keep me cheerful
for the sake of everyone.
Amen.

God our Father,
lead me to grow in faith
and keep a healthy balance in my life.
Remind me that I need to
give time and space for myself
as well as for others.
Inspire me
to remaining committed in my work,
sharing quality time with my family,
and enjoying
sufficient rest and recreation.
Amen.

Lord Jesus,
we ask you to bring your healing touch
to those whom we know
to be sick, afraid, or worried.
Bring them your peace and healing.
Amen.

Let us pray:
God our Father,
teach us to distinguish clearly
between right and wrong,
that we may grow in character
and develop a true sense of values
through following Jesus,
Your Son and our Brother.
We pray, too, for all
who are in positions of leadership
in our country
that they may be inspired
by the values of the gospel.
We pray that they may live
as people of integrity and honesty,
growing in a sense
of duty and responsibility,
always being aware of the needy,
are ready to be of service to others.
Amen.

Lord, make my every thought, word and action of you this day.
My every footstep, to be placed and guided, exactly where you would have me be at that very moment in time.
My most fervent and ardent desire:
To serve thee above all things, so that in all that I say and do, filled with your Holy presence, a tabernacle for your spirit, I may be a true and living witness to the Father's glory.
In Jesus' name. Amen.

All through today, God, help us to be quick to praise and slow to criticise, quick to forgive, and slow to condemn, quick to share, and slow to refuse to give. Help us all through today to have complete control over our tempers, that we may be slow to anger; help us, God, to have control over our tongues that we may speak no hasty words. Help us today to serve others and to hurt no one. Amen

God of power and mercy,
you destroy war and put down earthly pride.
Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears
that we may all deserve to be called your sons and daughters. Amen.

It’s easy, Lord, to take our families for granted. If we walk in blindness, create in us the ability to see and meet their needs. If we are deaf, help us to hear and respond to their fears. We thank you, Lord, for enriching our lives, and sharing laughter. As they hold our hands, enable us to give our support, and most of all, our love. Amen.

We pray, Lord, for all who will need strength and courage in the day ahead:
- for those who face danger;
- for those who risk themselves for others;
- for those who must make an important decision today;
- for people who are seriously ill;
- for those facing persecution or torture.
We ask you, Lord, to give them the power of your Spirit. Amen.

Lord God, let your spirit speak to our minds and our hearts today. May your Spirit be light for our way, strength for our tasks, peace for our worries, while leading us in forgiveness of our sins. Give us the power to live according to your Spirit. Amen

Lord, make the old tolerant, the young sympathetic, the great humble, the busy patient,
Make rich people understanding, strong people gentle, those who are weak prayerful;
Make the religious lovable, happy people thoughtful, the clever kindly, the bad good, the good pleasant, and, dear Lord, make me what I ought to be. Amen.

Lord, grant us the wisdom to care for your earth and till it. Help us to act now for the good of future generations and all your creatures.
Help us to become instruments of a new creation,
founded on the covenant of your love. Amen.

Lord God, we ask you to come into St Thomas More College today and into our hearts. Stay with us all today, help us to trust each other especially if the going is tough and we feel unfairly treated. Help us to turn to you for guidance, and when we do, hear our prayers. Bless all those who encourage and guide us. Amen.

Lord, we often have our trials and sufferings and sometime they get us down. Help us today to look on the bright side of things and to be cheerful always. Help us to know our blessings and to realise that there are many who suffer more than we do. May we help each other today by our kindness and care of each other. Amen.

God our Father, open our eyes to see
your hand at work in the splendour
of creation,
In the beauty of human life.
Touched by your hand our world
is holy. Amen.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
seek to be consoled as to console,
not so much to be understood as to understand,
not so much to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
it is in dying that we awake to eternal life.
Amen.

O Almighty God,
the Father of all humanity,
turn, we pray, the hearts of all peoples and their rulers,
that by the power of your Holy Spirit
peace may be established among the nations
on the foundation of justice, righteousness and truth;
through him who was lifted up on the cross
to draw all people to himself,
your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Father of Light and Wisdom,
thank you for giving me
a mind that can know
and a heart that can love.
Help me to keep learning every day of my life--
no matter what the subject may be.
Let me be convinced that all knowledge leads to you
and let me know how to find you and love you
in all the things you have made.
Encourage me when the studies are difficult
and when I am tempted to give up
Enlighten me when my brain is slow
and help me to grasp the truth held out to me.
Grant me the grace to put my knowledge to use
in building the kingdom of God on earth
so that I may enter the kingdom of God in heaven.
Amen.

Father,
Sometimes I feel bewildered by the world.
I don't understand how there can be such richness beside such poverty.
Help me to be generous and thoughtful of others.
I feel upset when I hear others cruel words or see hatred or prejudice.
Help me to be loving and accepting of all I meet.
Sometimes a feel down about the pressure on young people to succeed.
Lord, in this confusing world
Help me to look to you
And stay hopeful and happy.
Amen.

Lord, we remember before you
all our brothers and sisters
who are weighed down with suffering.
Bless and guide us
that your love may be reflected
in our concern for the hungry,
the oppressed and the unloved.
Help us to acknowledge
and grow in appreciation
that all people are made
in your image and likeness.
Amen.

Lord, may we who have plenty
live simply
so that others may simply live.
Amen.
