PRESENTATION OUTLINE
In the first article I read it states that a lot more people are staying home so they don't get the disease because older adults and younger children are to get it. But in our community there are quite a few people not social distancing and it is possible that they could live with a younger sibling or grandparent and be carrying it. So unless it's important we should all stay home, or social distance if you go on walks or go outside.
In the second article I read it talks about the shortages in face masks. But also about other people, Carpenters, Clothing Companies, and Sewing Circles are stepping up to make masks. So it would be nice if more people could start making masks for local businesses, companies, and hospitals.
The third article I read talked about a few different things like, how Covid-19 affects people, if Pets can get the Coronavirus, Social distancing, and why everything is closing. The Coronavirus affects people by giving them a fever, cough and/or shortness of breath and can last up to two weeks. So far only one dog has tested positive in Hong Kong for it. We are supposed to be social distancing because that gives the virus last chances to spread because even though some people don't have symptoms doesn't mean they aren't carrying the disease. Also everything is closing because only essential businesses are open so examples of essential businesses are grocery stores and hardware stores incase anything happens to your house.
In the first video I watched it explained how not just older people can get the Coronavirus and how it can affect almost anyone with a sickness already so one volunteer goes around giving children and families in hospitals prayer bears to get them through or make them even a little bit happy. If we had more people in our community like the volunteer we could probably get through this a lot easier.
In the second video I watched it helped me understand what scientists are doing like seeing how and why the virus is spreading and gather data on timing and location of new cases, where the are coming from and how long symptoms take to appear. If we had even just a few people looking at the little things in each neighborhood we would know more about the virus and how close it is to us.
The science community has made a positive impact toward learning how to combat the Coronavirus by going to work everyday even though the virus is affecting so many people around them, trying to create a working vaccine and even though some might not work they still keep trying because if they decide just to give up then the Coronavirus is just going to keep hurting and killing more people.
