MAGNIFICENT RARE BLACK LEOPARDS CAUGHT ON CAMERA IN KENYA

FEBRUARY 15, 2019

DOGO NEWS

WHAT’S THE SITUATION?

  • A black leopard has been spotted in Africa for the first time since 1909. Black panthers are critically endangered animals who are normally found in Asia. The leopard’s dark skin is a result of a mutation called melanism, which leads to an excess in pigmentation. This causes the fur of an animal to turn black. This article also tells about how some photographers captured photos of the leopard.

wHEN AND WHERE DID THIS TAKE PLACE?

  • This took place in Laikipia County, Kenya
  • The sighting was in early February
