Hypothermia

  • Core body temperature goes below 35°C heading into hypothremia
  • Symtoms include shivering, tired feeling, pale skin, unsteady walk, slurred speach, comas, slowing heart rate and breathing, and also may apper dead
  • To help treat it remove wet clothing, do not use direct heat use blankets, towels, warm drinks such as hot chocolate because will help bring sugar level up

Fire Building

  • Find small dry material
  • Should be prepared and have waterproof matches or lighter or if not prepared small dry sticks
  • If have car can us gas and two rocks to spark
  • run car and catalytic converter to light small brush on fire

Shelter

  • Two kinds teepee or more common the lean to
  • Teepee good because can have fire in and smoke can exit but bad because hard to build
  • Lean to good because easier to build but bad because can't have fire without filling shelter up with smoke
  • build lean to by having front higher than back four posts and cross pieces and easy cover roof using branches, bushes, moss, and leaves
  • Build teepee by tying 3 pieces wood together stand it up add more wood cover with leaves, bushes, branches, or moss

Hydration

  • Find anything to catch rain plasic containers, plasic bags, or big leaves and try to direct to place to pool water
  • Never drink lake or river water unless boil water for 15 minioutes
  • Can only drink snow if melted and bioled on fire

  • Have something to eat before you go
  • Tell some one where you are going
  • Be prepared
  • Don't panic
  • Stay where you are and Build a fire and a signal fire out of evergreen needles
  • Scout your, area find water and purify it, find safe food, and find or build a shelter
