  • What is the purpose for doing the investigation?

Background

  • Explain what you know (either from class or from google) about the investigation.
  • Explain what you are attempting to do and why!!!
  • This should be a paragraph minimum
  • 15 points

Hypothesis

  • this will not always be necessary
  • use when YOU are designing the experiment

Materials/procedures

  • do not copy the step by step procedures of a lab you are given -- just summarize the overall procedures.
  • if you are designing your own lab, you will need to include step by step procedures
  • 10 points

DATA/OBSERVATIONS

  • very very important
  • Should include units of measurement after numbers, data tables, be well organized, clearly labeled
  • 30 points

Conclusion

  • this should summarize in a few sentences what the results were
  • complete sentences, thought should flow and communicate understanding of lab
