The cell membrane represents the city borders. We chose it because it controls entry and exit from the area, much like the cell membrane does.

We chose the roads and highways to represent the cytoplasm because it holds the city together while connecting it.

We chose city hall to represent the nucleus because it controls the city and stores it's history, just like the nucleus is the center of the cell and holds its DNA.

The city bus represents the cytoskeleton because the cytoskeleton constantly changes to meet the needs of the cell, and the city bus's routes constantly change.

We chose a factory to represent the smooth ER because it performs a variety of functions, like how a factory can produce a variety of products.

We chose a conveyor belt to represent the rough ER because it transports products through a factory.

We chose our school to represent a ribosome because it holds the community of our school together to make family, just like how a ribosome links amino acids to make proteins.

We chose UPS and other mail delivery services to represent the Golgi apparatus because it ships and processes your order and delivers it to you. Just like how the Golgi apparatus processes, sorts, and delivers proteins.

We used a singular mailman to represent vesicles
because the are smaller than the Golgi Apparatus, but have a similar on a smaller level. Like the mailman to UPS. It supplies the city with information, just like the vesicles moves material.

We used the DWP to represent the mitochondria because they both supply the cell or city with energy to function.

The vacuole stores material much like how public storage stores material for the city and residence.

The cell wall is like the border of a city or country. It helps protect, shape, and store the city/cell. It is also very strong and first line of defense.

We used solar panels to represent chloroplast, because they both convert solar energy into chemical energy. They both give useable energy for the cell or city.
