CAN MAN'S BEST FRIEND REALLY TALK TO US?

Animal communication has gone back thousands of years. More than 10,000 years ago, dogs were used as watchdogs, but were eventually made into the lovable companions we know as dogs.

Researchers in Hungary have discovered that people could actually speak dog! They listened to several dogs barking and the people could tell what the dog was feeling.

When words were spoken to a dog through speakers on each side, they turned to the right, suggesting dogs comprehend words in the left brain.

When random words with no particular meaning were said with varied brightness and tone, they turned to the left, suggesting that they comprehend emotion in the right brain.

What is interesting is that in humans, the right brain is considered the creative side of the brain. So if you are right brained, you will likely be a writer or an artist. It you are left brained, you will likely be an accountant or an office worker.

Dogs are the only non primate animal that seeks eye contact. Even wolves don't seek eye contact, which are relatives of dogs.
