Georgia was named after King George the II
Georgia was founded by James Oglethorpe and other colonists in 1732
Georgia is part of the Southern Colonies

James Oglethorpe was born in Surrey, the son of Theophilus Oglethorpe
He did not believe in slavery and he was born on December 22,1696.

Religion
Georgia believed in religious freedom; they believed in angels
One of the religions was Baptists. They believed that if you believed in God you will go to heaven
People in Georgia worshipped angels and God.
