HOW IT STARTED

  • -In 1920 Nazi party members publicly declared their their intention to segregate Jew from Aryan society.
  • - During the first six years of hitler dictatorship from 1933 until the outbreak of war 1939 Jews felt the effects of more that 400 decrees and regulations that restricted all aspects of their public and private lives.

  • - On April 7,1933 the first major law was made preventing the Jews from participating in German public life , it was called the "Law for the Restoration of Professional Civil Service"
  • In 1937 the government forbade Jewish doctors to treat non jews, and revoked the licenses of Jewish lawyers to practice law.

  • - On November 9 1938 ,Nazi leaders banned Jews from all public schools universities,cinemas,theaters,and sports facilities.
  • - In 1938 German authorities declared that all Jewish men and women with the names non jews had to add Israel and Sara to their given names .

KILLING UNITS

  • The mobile killing units were squads composed primarily of German SS and Police personnel
  • - In 1941 the gas van was made let out carbon monoxid
  • - By spring of 1943 over a million Jews were killed from the killing units

HITLER

  • On January 30,1933 Adolf Hitler was appointed as German chancellor -Born 20/04/1889 and died 30/04/1945 when he committed suicide with girlfriend
  • Fought in the First World War and got the rank of corporal
  • In 1939 hitler attended the first meeting of German workers party, were hitler gave speeches and was re-named the leader National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nazi).
  • was an artist rejected from the academy in Vienna

  • In 1939 hitler made an alliance with Russia and Italy called the pack of steel
  • On September 1 1939 hitler invaded Poland, then on April 1940 Denmark,Norway,and France were taken

DEATH MARCHES

  • The death marches had three purposes.1.to not let SS prisoners to fall into the wrong hands 2.SS officers thought they needed prisoners to maintain production of armaments whenever possible 3.SS soldiers believed they could use the prisoners as hostages to bargain for guarantee survival
  • Most marches were on train and some were on foot
  • Prisoner that couldn't walk or travel were killed
