HISTORICAL GLOBALIZATION

  • Connects to the S in PERSIA best because it has spread many cultures and societal beliefs further than their origins.

FOR EXAMPLE

  • Alexander the Great controlled many miles of territory as the leader off the Greek empire, resulting in a large spread of Greek culture, beliefs and values.

COMMUNICATION

COMMUNICATION

  • Connects best to the S in PERSIA because an increased level of sociableness helps countries and people to relate to people across the globe and connects us to people we wouldn't otherwise be connected to.

FOR EXAMPLE

  • In 2015, according to the UN, 6 billion of the 7 billion people on the earth have access to a cell phone which many use to communicate and connect socially with the world, not just their close community.

TRAVEL

TRAVEL

  • Travel connects closest to the economic piece of PERSIA due to the fact that travelers and tourists often from western countries bring an economic advantage to more globalized countries.

FOR EXAMPLE

  • People in America commonly tend to honeymoon in a hotel with lavish accommodations, like those they may receive back in the place they came from, countries or businesses capable of meaning these demands are more likely to reap the rewards travelers bring.

ECONOMY

  • Connects to the E part of PERSIA best because the interconnectedness of the economies in different countries has an enormous effect upon consumers, producers and companies.

FOR EXAMPLE

  • When the economy lowers or raises in one country, it often has a ripple effect on other countries, like in 2006 when in the US there was a financial crisis and it nearly put Iceland bankrupt.

POLITICS

POLITICS

  • Connects to the P in Persia because the poor or good decisions made by a leader of one country can affect other leaders and countries

FOR EXAMPLE

  • Countries are more able to cooperate to form solutions to problems occurring across the globe, like war, disease and terrorism. To solve these problems and unite countries, the UN was formed.

POSITIVES

  • Countries are more abate to work together
  • People are able to communicate more directly
  • It is easier to learn about other cultures, religions and the beliefs of other people

NEGATIVES

  • The bigger cultures may stamp out smaller, lesser known ones.
  • If one country were to have a massive economic break down, it may lead to break downs and shake the global economy.
  • Outsourcing may lead to more developed countries loosing jobs.

GLOBAL WARMING

CLIMATE CHANGE

  • Global warming is a very bad problem, affecting the whole world and leading to many other problems.
  • Basically, the earth's average temperature is raising, which leads to an increased likelihood of natural disasters, extinction and loss of habitat.

The article I read portrayed global warming in a very negative light and insisted that developed countries and big contributors need to work harder to decrease their impact.

Because this is a global issue, it requires global attention, globalization is likely one cause for this but so is human development which are connected. Globalization could help interconnected countries to work together to tackle this problem.
