Constructivists theory

  • Argues that people produce knowledge from meaning based upon their experiences
  • The key concepts which create the construction of individual's new knowledge are accommodation and assimilation.

Behaviorism

  • The theory that human and animal behavior can be explained in terms of conditioning, without appeal to thoughts or feelings, and that psychological disorders are best treated by altering behavior patterns

Cognitivism

  • focuses on the processes involved in learning, rather than on the observed behavior.
  • as opposed to behaviorists, cognitivists do not require an outward exhibition of learning, but focus more on the internal processes and connections that take place during learning.

Albert bondura and the bobo doll experiment

  • Tested 72 children.
  • they were split into 3 groups and shown different modles
  • they then were split into female and male

John watson and the little albert experiment

  • it was a controlled experiment showing empirical evidence of classical conditioning in humans.
  • the study also provides an example of stimulus generalization

Lev vygotsky

  • Was a russian psychologist
  • Believed that social interaction plays an essential role in children's learning
  • through such a social interactions, children go through a continious process of learning

B.f. skinner

  • Developed the theory of conditioning- the idea that behavior is determined by its consequences, be they reinforcements or punishments, which make it more or less likely that the behavior will occur again
