This is my Haiku Deck presentation for EDTECH 513. The presentation can be viewed here.

I was first introduced to Haiku Deck for an assignment that discussed the digital inequality in the state of West Virginia. For this assignment, I designed a presentation that introduces popular and mandatory online programs to new teachers in my county. Some of the programs discussed in my presentation include Schoology, Office 365, ABE System, and Educreation.

Haiku Deck is an extremely fun tool to use for teachers and students. The program allows users to quickly search from a vast selection of images. There is also a nice note feature to guide presenters through the slide. Once completed with a presentation, finished decks are easily shared through Facebook, Google, and Twitter.

6 Accounts

Each teacher and student is given 6 Office 365 accounts to use on home computers. Each account includes tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. There is even a communication tool called Lynx that will allow chatting and face time with other people who have the software. All teacher and student e-mail is set up through an Office 365 account.

WVDE HOME PAGE

It's important that we keep up-to-date with the West Virginia Department of Education webpage. This site shows county and school progress, state news, and it also provides links for tools such as school e-mail and online IEPs.

Schoology

A LMS (Learning Management System) is a tool that we can use to deliver and manage learning online. With Schoology, teachers can deliver, facilitate, and manage learning online. This page contains tools such as assessment creation, classroom activities, and private discussion boards for online communication.

Educreation

A fun and easy to use software with any grade is Educreation. This free app allows students to use their ipads as interactive whiteboards to draw and add photos from the web or their cameras. After students compile the images that they want, they them record audio to supplement the visuals of their choice. This app can be used for free.
