Monetary Denominations
In Mexico the money is called pesos and 17.68 pesos= 1 US dollar. Paper currency are:20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 pesos. Coins are in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 centavos. 100 centavos=1 peso.

Important holidays are September 16: Independence Day,October 31-Nov 2: Day of the Dead, December 12: Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe December 25: Navidad(Christmas)

The maximum amount of work someone can work in Mexico is 48 hours a week

The Mexicans main religion is the Roman Catholic

In a man's perspective a man's greatest offense against the norm is to act like a man. Men are more dominant than women and tend to work "harder" than the women

In the workforce, men are required to wear a suit and women are required to wear a pants suit or a knee length skirt with hosiery and high heels.

In Mexico lunches are the traditional form of business entertainment and they begin between 2 and 3 pm and last 3-4 hours.

Gift giving in Mexico is not required, but small items with a company logo are appreciated. Flowers, candy and local crafts are appreciated.

Punctuality is is not rigid because of the emphasis on personal obligations. Best time for appointments and business is between 10 am and 1 pm

The main spoken language in Mexico is Spanish. English is extremely widespread especially among the educated and middle class.

In Mexico doctoral degrees are common, foreign educated is more common among upper level Mexican executives than their counterparts in the US public or private college.

The political system in Mexico is the same as the US political system, they have the legislative, executive, and judicial branches
