GREASERS
Greaser are a subculture that originated in the 1950s. Rock and roll music influenced the groups. The term greaser comes from there hair style, how it's greased back form hair gel and wax. This subculture tended to be more popular in working class neighborhoods.

Some Reasons Why Teens Might Join Gangs
In 1920, Chicago had about 1300 gangs. With these high numbers a teen could accidentally stumble upon a gang and to avoid trouble or to give into peer pressure join the gang. Other teens may join for reputation and respect.
