BACKUP YOUR COMPUTER!

Reasons why you should

Valuable Pictures

Reason #1
Being the "computer guy" for many clients, I frequently get questions about all things related to computing. The one question that bothers me most is, "Is there any way to retrieve pictures from my computer that just crashed?"

I usually have some suggestions on how to help, but the best idea is to back up the pictures BEFORE the computer crashes.

Valuable Data

Reason #2
I find myself turning to my computer more and more, and I have years worth of information on there that would be difficult to replace. I have work documents, personal documents, presentations, development project, and so much more.

Losing all of the stuff I have on my computer would be detrimental to my personal and work life. Backing it up will help me rest a little easier knowing I have protected my valuable data.

VALUABLE

Reason #3
While I've given 2 items I value on my computer, each of us could identify the valuable items on their computer. Do that now.

What's on your computer that you do not want to lose? Besides pictures and data it may be...

Videos
Music
Art
Games
Manuscripts
Software Projects
and much, much more!

It is easy to do!

Reason #4
Both Mac and Windows operating systems come with a built in backup solution. Both also include a way to create a schedule of regular backups.

It might be a little intimidating to set up the backup process, but it is well worth spending a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the application. Look for videos online that will give you an overview.

USB POWERED DRIVES ARE inexpensive!

Reason #5
You can purchase a 500+ gigabyte USB powered hard drive at many computer and office supply stores for very reasonable price.

I like using these external USB powered drives for several reasons:
1. They are large enough to backup most computers with little trouble.

2. The USB connection is very fast, making backup times shorter.

3. They power up and down with the computer, saving you money on your power bill.
