What is EDPS?

• This class is designed to introduce child development (birth through adolescence)
• The topics in this class cover pedagogy with regards to child development in cognitive, social, and emotional concepts in relation to students family, school, and community.
• We will also learn how to be an AWESOME! Teacher with Ms. Johnson's skills!

Teaching Philosophy:
-My belief is that the purpose of an educator is to teach students how to be life long learners!

Developmental theory is important to include in teaching methodology (lesson plans) because it tailors teaching to student's abilities.

According to the text, historically, childhood education is grounded in developmental principles to support each child's developmental stage adequately based on their needs.

I'm a Junior?

Career Goals:
I would love to teach in my hometown for a few years to start. Ultimately, I want to teach health and a section of adapted physical education.

EDPS Goals:

• Practice writing more lesson plans!
• Learn new teaching techniques.
