I is for irony
Right after Ponyboy got out of the burning church and stopped inhaling and choking on the smoke he was put in a ambulance. Ponyboy panicked and started smoking. This is ironic because he just got out of a burning building and inhaling smoke to inhaling smoke on purpose.

J is for Johnny
Johnny is the gangs "pet". He has it rough at home and his parents don't care about him. The gang loves him as their own family, and when he is hospitalized they are devastated. They said why couldn't it have been anyone but Johnny, we could live without anyone but Johnny.

K is for kid
When Johnny is hospitalized due to major injuries he is just a kid. Johnny used to think about killing himself be used his life was so rough, but when he is dying he realizes that he wants to live because since he was just a kid he hasn't done much in the world.

L is for love
The boys all cared for each other very much they loved one another like family. They stuck together no matter what happened. Johnny is upset when he hears his parents didn't care that he was gone, so the gang try's to make up for his parents not loving him. Johnny knows it will never be the same type of love.

M is for mother
Johnny's mother is very rough on him, and doesn't care about him. When he is put in the hospital Johnny refuses to see her and says that she will be glad when he is dead.

N is for newspaper
After the boys save the children from the burning church, they are recognized in the newspaper for being heros. Johnny was very proud of this because he acted gallantly like in the book gone with the wind.

O is for outrageous
When the boys when into the burning church to save the young children it was outrageous. Not many people would of done this actor braveness, many people said that they were crazy for risking their lives.
P is for Ponyboy
Ponyboy is the main character in the book. He loves books, movies and sunsets. He isn't like the rest of the guys,he is a dreamer. Ponyboy I'd also a hero, he jumped into the burning church to save the young children even though he could have died.
