All of the stars seen without a telescope belong to the milky way galaxy.

The brightest star in the night sky is the Sirus the dog star. 

The oldest star may be 12 billion years old.

The farthest stars away are in galaxies billions of light years away. 

The sun is the center of the solar system.

Heat and light are produced by nuclear reactions within the sun.

Even though the sun is an averaged sized star one million earth's can fit inside of it.

The surface temperature of the sun is nearly 5500 degrees Celsius.

STARS:   Sirus  has a companion star which was the first white dwarf star discovered.

SUN:  The next layer away from the sun is the middle layer or radiation zone.
