PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Cinema Release

  • Primary Focus on independent cinemas
  • LGBTQ+ Community more open minded, thus more likely to visit indie cinemas, such as the Electric Cinema.
  • Still will be released in mainstream cinemas, eg Cineworld or Odeon
  • Hope to attract tertiary audiences, such as cinema goers and fans of the coming of age genre of film.

TV Release

  • Film 4 Productions are our distribution company.
  • Therefore likely to show aglet on Film 4 TV Channel
  • Commonly adopted strategy by Film 4 when investing in indie films, for example Submarine (2010)

Legal Online Release

  • Possibility for short term online streaming on service such as Netflix or Blinkbox.
  • Highly dependent on success of film at box office and no guaranteed release.
  • For example, Sumarine (2010) was only availiable on Netflix UK for its first year.

Online illegal Exchange

  • Although no revenue earnt from online piracy, word of mouth is still generated.
  • High chance that a large audience will watch the film illegally, as they don't think its a film worth seeing in the cinema.

DVD and Blu-Ray Release

  • Extremely likely to have DVD and Blu-Ray release 6 to 12 months after theatrical release.
  • Sold predominantly in Supermarkets and on Amazon.
  • Submarine's Theatrical release was on March 18th 2011
  • Submarine's DVD and Blu-Ray release was on October 4th 2011.
