The Harappan Civilization was India's first known
civilization that grew up in the Indus river. It lasted 2600-1700 BC. The Harappan and Mohejo-Daro Cities were both cities at the time on the Indus river. The Harappan invented India's first writing system. Not much is known about the Harappan Civilization because it ended in the 1700s BC.
