ANTARCTICA IS LOSING ICE 6 TIMES FASTER THAN IN THE 1980S

BY:Iman

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

  • Humans cause climate change
  • The Melting rate is 15% higher than last year
  • Since 2009, Antarctica has lost almost 278 billion tons of ice per year.
  • East Antarctica's melting "increases the risk of multiple meter (more than 10 feet) sea level rise over the next century or so,"

WHY I THINK THIS IS NEWSWORTHY

I THINK THIS IS NEWSWORTHY BECAUSE IT AFFECTS SO MANY ANMIALS WHEN ALL THE ICE STARTS TO MELT.ALSO I WOULDNT WANT TO LIVE UNDER WATER

LENS

I CHOSE THE GEOGRAPHICAL LENS

Why I chose this topic
I chose this topic because
Not many people talk about Antarctica and all the animals that live there. And I want to know if all of Antarctica could melt because of this climate change.
