PICKNEY'S TREATY

  • The Pinckney Treaty, officially called the Treaty of San Lorenzo, was signed by the United States and Spain on October 27, 1795, to end a dispute between the two countries over land settlement and Mississippi River trade.

GEORGE WASHINGTON

  • Washington was born in 1732 as a child he lived in the Virginia colony. When he became president he moved to New York City and Philadelphia, the Nations first two capitals. He spent most of his life in the military and in politics even though he was a rich farmer. He led the colonial forces to victory in the Revolutionary War and later helped organize the new government of the United States. April of 1789 he was unanimously as the first president.

JAY'S TREATY🐦

  • The official name is "The Treaty Of Amity Commerce and Navigation". It was signed Britain's King George lll on November 19, 1794 . It was written by Supreme Court chief John Jay in order to calm the tension with Britain.

WHISKEY REBELLION🍺

  • In 1794 thousands of farmers in western Pennsylvania rebelled against the taxing of whiskey. This was one of the largest organized resistance against the federal authority Between the American Revolution and the a Civil War.

FAREWELL ADDRESS👋🏼

  • George Washington wrote the farewell address after his second term as president. In it he gave advice for the future of the U.S " The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connexion as possible."
